Noiiz Design Update – what to expect

Noiiz Design Update – what to expect
15th March 2018 Dave Rose

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be making updates across the Noiiz website and we thought we’d give you a quick heads up ahead of time.

These aren’t fixed and we’re totally open to feedback here, so things might change. We also know that these things can be disruptive, especially with something you use regularly, so we’re being careful to roll these out as gently as possible and take on board feedback as we go. ๐Ÿ™‚

Layout changes

Main navigation

At the top there will be three sections – Home, Content and Groups. ‘Home’ will contain links to the Home Page, Blog, Pricing and ‘Content’ will be where all your musical content lives. Groups are currently top secret … ish… we’ll be announcing more about this soon ๐Ÿ˜œ

Content sections

We’re introducing some new content categories to Noiiz (yay! ๐Ÿ˜) so there will be a new sub menu, similar to the existing menu on Noiiz, where you can flick between different types of content, like sounds, instruments, presets etc. Each section will have it’s own landing page, like the Sounds section does already and you’ll be able to drill down further should you wish.

New filters

We’re updating filters to make it quicker and easier to find what you want, as well as to make space for new filters in the future. Each filter will have a little snappy dropdown so you can quickly select what you need.

More consistency

Noiiz currently has lots of things that contain other things, like folders, playlists, packs, sounds, profiles etc. Right now, it’s all a bit jumbled, so we’re creating a more consistent layout, which should help you navigate the pages more quickly and hopefully feel a bit ‘nicer’. ๐Ÿ˜Š

A splash of colour!

Noiiz currently has more shades of grey than any best-selling novel in the history of time!

Whilst we’ve had good feedback that the existing UI is nice and unobtrusive, we’ve also had feedback that it’s a bit, well…dull. So we’re aiming to add a splash of colour and generally create a more engaging, slicker look and feel to the site, with clearer action buttons and functional use of colour, although we’ll be careful to preserve the unobtrusive feel overall.

Please do give us your feedback as we roll out these changes, nothing is fixed here and we’re open to ideas. We look forward to bringing you a slicker, easier to use Noiiz! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
